Internship at MCPHD
During the summer I worked as a Seasonal Pool Inspector for the Marion County Health Department in the Water Quality and Hazmat Materials department. I was lucky enough to stay on during the winter and help write the guidelines for cold plunges in Indiana. During this time I was also given the opportunity to shadow different inspections in my department.

My ROLE at MCPHD included responsibilities such as:
-
Testing swimming pools to make sure all chemicals were in range and there were no violations. If there was, I would go over them with the operators and help them correct them.
-
Shadowed a number of inspections such as indoor air, tattoo, microblading, well sampling, water sampling, and macro sampling inspections.
-
Worked with companies to make sure they filled out their Tier II paperwork.
-
Helped input pool application information into our system
-
Closed pools if they had any critical violations and explained to operator how they can fix the pool.
-
Helped write the guidance document (as seen below) for cold plunges.
