Work Experience

Throughout my academic career, I have had a couple of jobs that I think has made me more into the person I am today. My job at the health department and my many roles in customer service have helped cultivate a strong work ethic and genuine curiosity to learn more about the world. They both center on service and human connections.

My job at the health department has helped me learn the importance of precision and accountability. Working on swimming pools, you also have to help teach people how to test. Making sure that you communicate effectively and help explain any issues or situations to them. It also builds on my discipline and attention to detail, Making sure that all pools havre the correct signage and fences meet the correct height.

My jobs as a waitress have helped me develop teamwork and adaptability. We meet and serve people from all walks of life, and sometimes doing that teaches us patience and helps build our communication skills. We can see firsthand how small acts of service, such as listening can make a differnece in experince and respect. Working in a fast-paced enviornmenr also helps me strenghtan my problem solving skills and the value of hard work.
